Remember the Treehouse of Horror 11 title sequence?

We come out of the second five years of Simpson's Halloween Specials and go right into 2000, and the 11th Treehouse of Horror.

This year we open on a black and white view of a house, and the title.

And as Homer crashes through the front door, it is clear they are omaging the hell out of The Munsters.

Along with Homer, as Herman, the music has been tweaked to be a fun blend of The Muensters theme with The Simpsons theme.

Out next comes Marge, as Lilith.

Next comes out Bart, as Eddie.

And then Lisa, as Marion. She also is carrying a book entitled Copywrite Law. A nod to the fact they are copying another shows opening, with a wink.

Finally, out comes Grandpa, as...Grandpa...

After they all walk off screen, one by one, as in the old show, they all run back to the door, in terror.

The city mob has come.

And they set upon the family.

In it's wake, they are all dead...except Lisa. (The normal one.) And she just sneaks off screens, happy to be alive.

And that is that, for the opening. It is a fun change, playing on an old classic show opening. And no couch gag this time around. They committed to this bit to the gruesome end.
