Doggie Adoption Day, 3rd Anniversary

It seems that Jules has been with me for three years. Now it seems like it must be far longer, but it has just been 3 years. He's just filled each year with more moments and fun than I ever expected.

Not the youngest when we met, he does love his long naps and needs a few minutes when he wakes to go through his yoga routine. But sometimes, even after an intense stretching session he'll plop right back down and nod off. He knows the secret, sleep is good.

But he also wants to be seen as the most vigorous of dog, and also bigger than any dog he meets. Or any wild turkeys and geese. I don't know if it's bluff on his part or 50-pounds of confidence in a 20-pound sack.

It doesn't matter to me, as when he isn't trying to be an adventurer, he loves his time being adored and pampered.

And I look forward to more years of being able to spoil my little guy.

Jules: Adopting a dog's life.

Ah, a post 10 months in coming.

It's been around 10 months since I visited the local Humane Society, looking at dogs in need of homes, when I finally found that one. The one you make eye contact with and know you need to go home together.

"You're narrating my life again, aren't you?"

Creeping Up On Halloween With Sad Pets

Holidays can be rough on pets. The home gets a makeover. Strangers come in. Loud Parties. Getting isolated while everyone else is busy. But is that worse?

NO!

It's terrible costumes. Bunny costumes. Elf costumes. Pilgrim costumes. It's horror story. Then comes Halloween with a range of looks from Batman to Yoda to Freddy Pooger.

Still, some good promotion can sell you on the idea. The happy pup (You never see a happy cat.) looking ready to wield the dark side of the Force.

And then you have the occasional costume packaging that manages to show you the look your dog will really give you.

Some Halloween Decompression

Sometimes the hurly burly of the Halloween season can be a bit much. You need to decompress. You need to find a happy place in the mind.

Submitted for your amusement, a Corgi vying against a tiny pumpkin.

A Dog's Duty Is Never Done, And For Once Not A Pun.

This is a cute little video from KLM in Amsterdam. It's about their service for returning lost items to owners, via cute doggies. I don't know if this is mostly for humor and promotion, or if it's actually something they have working. But I do know it is too cute to not watch.

Always another lost doll to return to a little kid. But when the day is done they need a little nap and a light snack.

Puppies need your love.

Dogs. What can you say? Most of us love and adore them. But not every dog gets the affection it deserves in it's life. ...Made you sad?

How about a couple of tales of dogs getting a second chance? How about some sad dogs that are given a reason to wag their tails enthusiastically about life?

A blind stray dog finds love, home, and sight.

Caged Beagles discover grass, and fun.

There are a lot of services and facilities around the country that work to help out stray dogs and cats, or those that are exploited, or those that are in need. Consider donating time or money to help out.

Trailers in Short - Animals Want To Eat Your Face Edition

Welcome to the world of animals. As a rule, animals are awesome. Tiny bugs building a megalopolis. Whales or Sharks herding prey. Birds navigating vast distances. Dogs giving up their derp face.

And then there are the movies. Forget all that stuff above. Animals. Want. To. Eat. Your. Face.

Big Ass Spiders! Zombeavers! Squirrels!

...And more, of course.

Dog's Life: the tired, the conquering, and the lead.

Been traveling, been tired, and trying to get myself writing.

So, how about some videos. Not a lot of cat, I'm afraid. But plenty of happy pooches, and one that's a bit confused by his situation.

When you're a pooped puppy. (No euphemism.)

Getting to know your bone. (Still no euphemism.)

Now it's time for the cat to take you home. (Surprisingly not a euphemism in sight.)

And now, a dog losing a fight with a door stop.

To break up serious topics, something from YouTube.

A dog that is being bested by a door stop. Enjoy.

Dog doing his thing

Here is a cute video of a dog blind since a pup, and suffering other ailments, out playing fetch in the backyard. Lacks a sense, but living life and happy.

Dog finds friend

Cute vid of a dog in desperate need of aid. The very end of the video shows what the dog took away from the event.
