Wonder Woman Fun: Wonder Cookies!

As with all superhero movies these days, you can find a variety of companies and products to tie in. Toys are nice. Underwear and insurance are weird. But cookies...they may be the best.

Out for now in a store, hopefully, near you. Wonder Woman cookies. Wonder Cookies!

It's a fun box, that sets the stage for kids, or adults, to make some simple sugar cookies and have a Wonder Woman party...which is why I'll probably end up stocking up on some of these for when the movie is released for home viewing. (Though I suppose I could put some in a bag and sneak them into the film...)

From pre-prepped frozen rounds...

To warm cookie. (I found I need a full 15 minutes to get the cookies fully cooked and slightly brown on the edges and bottom.) The cookies are not big, they expand some from their initial look, but always remember, these are made for kids first.

After 15 minutes, you will find yourself with a tray, and some a plate, of yummy Wonder Cookies. (But remember, wait a minute or two before touching them after them come out of the oven. These cookies are fragile until they get a cool down minute.

So get out and try some, if it fits your tastes and dietary needs. Maybe even have them with a certain ice cream stores Wonder Woman themed ice cream?

And so are cookies.

And what else does this box promise?

Oh, I will be looking. I will.

Creeping Up On Halloween With Caramel Apple Oreo

When it comes to Halloween we do rather get obsessed with Pumpkin, or rather Pumpkin Spice. We love it, we hate it, we're over it.

Hey, I still love some pumpkin.

But apples have such a history with Halloween, and it's just feels like it's getting passe by too easily. Who doesn't love a Halloween party and some Bobbing For Apples? ...Do people still bob for apples? Is that still a thing, or is that that gone the way of peeled grapes as eyes? (Not that I really loved the messy experience to get an apple. Felt like a way to trick kids into washing their faces and getting fruit.

But the apple has it's history. The Fall caramel apple is still a joy...If you like working through hardened caramel to eat a Red Delicious apple. And then there's getting an apple when you go door to door Halloween Night...which really bit it...

But it has a noble history. The apple. Foe of many the young maiden. Biblical to Fairy Tales,

So how have we forgotten our old friend, fresh off the tree?

Well, it is a fruit, and one we have access to all year, including as a sweet. Apple Pie. Apple Crumble. Apple Juice. Apple Tea. Where's the shortage, the artificial rarity?

Who cares? If you can use it right, it's a fun treat for this season. And as noted above, it fits nicely in. And it's a break from the pumpkin, chocolate, and marshmallow.

And Oreo has  just the thing. Annoyingly, it seems it won't be around long.

Creeping Up On Halloween With Pumpkin Spice Oreos

Halloween and it's treats. So sweet. Sure Christmas has it's treats. But all that giving...Halloween is about the taking. And taken sweets...

Sweets of the Halloween ilk are numerous these days, and it does seem Oreo is eager these days to experiment. Caramel Apple. Pumpkin Spice. Sigh. It sounds so good. But so much of Oreos is sugar and fat. That is just not suitable for my long term viability.

Still...I happened to see some pumpkin spice ones in a small...ish package. And I did buy it.

REMEMBER, THE PUMPKIN SPICE IS LIFE.

Treats to come on Halloween

It's an odd thing. People often like to put down the candy corn.

Is it a silly name? Yes. Is it an odd shape? Yup. Is it a weird color choice? Of course.

But does it taste bad? No. It's fine. I wouldn't want to sit and eat a bag of it. It isn't that good. Besides, that's a bag of sugar.

But the attitude towards it is odd.

As a counterpoint, remember this from your Halloweens nights?

A popcorn ball. If you've never seen it before passed to you as you Trick or Treated about, it is a thing you could get.

Why? I can't fathom. They are dreadful. It's like seeing a rice cake as a treat.

Sure, you can add flavor. But still...

Bleech!

So I hope no kids will be getting that Halloween night.

On the plus side I actually have seen a new treat that, to me, is kind of cool.

Caramel Apple. And it works. Surprised me, but it actually has a nice taste to it.

Something good came from this Halloween season.
