Remember the Treehouse of Horror 20 title sequence?

Passing out of 2008, we now reach the 20th anniversary of these Simpsons' Halloween Specials.

We pan up to a castle overlooking the city.

Inside Frankenstein's monster rests.

But now he rises.

And heads out.

But comes back for the lights.

Meanwhile, the mummy also rises.

But he's annoyed that security isn't noticing his exit.

The two meet up with the rest in downtown Springfield.

But they get mocked for their old fashion looks.

So they get new looks.

They then head over to the Simpson's home.

Homer doesn't recognize them. But they offer booze, and they become old friends.

And they join the revelry.

Then some newcomers arrive. The wives.

And they are pissed.

And pounce.

But Homers has some sage points. Costumes make cheating okay.

And they have a reply to this idea.

And they toss his head away.

On come the titles.

It makes for a fun little opening. Monsters outdated, and then caught out cheating. It makes for an amusing short tale that takes you down an unexpected road. And any outing of the Universal Monsters is great.
