This time we open on Kang and Kodos. (Who'd they bribe to get back on?) They seem to be doing a zany sitcom.
One of them is cooking. The other pops in and frantically remind the cook that their boss is coming to dinner.
So the cook checks the meal in the oven. The Simpsons.
And Homer should compliment the chef, because he's finding himself irresistible.
The boss loves the meal. And he gives them a hypergalactic promotion. Then Bart bursts from the bosses chest.
Bart's bummed that he's lost him family, but Kang and Kodos say they can will make him part of their family.
And they go to the end credits, and play the theme music for Perfect Strangers.
And they close the credits with the production logo. The opening title.
This is a nice palette cleanser, after the last title sequence. It is a bit silly and off for the Halloween Special opening. It twists the classic sitcom trope of the boss coming to dinner by having the Simpsons killed and eaten. But it would have been a better creepy macabre opening if the focus was on cooking and serving them. But that may also have been too much.
This time around, the tales taken on are...

And that gives us a humorous little cap on this the 15th anniversary of these specials.
Now on to Year XVI!
