This year gave a little more of an opening, taking us into the life of a FOX censor, skimming through the latest Simpsons' script...
...and censoring it...
...and loving the comedy...
...then cutting the comedy out.
He then explains that thanks to his work, the Halloween Special will be rated G.
And then the rating retaliates.
And escalates the show's rating.
Finally, the censor is fully censored.
His blood rolls over the edge of the desk, and it forms the title.
Into the couch gag, as the family jumps onto the couch and it converts over to be an electric couch, of sorts.
A less swift opening, allowing for a renewed jab at the show's censoring. And it proves to be a fun and gruesome opening. Not as simple and to the point as the last years was, but evocative.
But it doesn't hold back this year's tales.
