This time out, Marge is back!
As she frets, she receives a notice. It says that the channel is worried about how nasty this year's show looks. So they are preempting it with
Glenn Ford's 200 Miles to Oregon.
Thankfully, unlike some shows, this clip is just moments. And then we cut to black.
An oscilloscope effect starts. Bart speaks over them, making the classic declaration of taking over your TV, as culled from The Outer Limits opening.
And Homer breaks in to screw around.
We now get the titles.
And once more into that old cemetery.
Inside we get ONE tombstone.
I think the writers are done with those then. Because tombstone jokes are dead to most of us. (Am I right?!) Last year must have been their once more onto the breach moment. And no more! Woo!
Instead, as we pull away from that tombstone, and as we head towards others, we get some Moe Syzlak. Hey, Moe!
And then he opens his eyes.
Then they pan over to Patty and Selma, and Rev. Lovejoy.
He lights them up, and they enjoy a smoke.
Meanwhile, Bart is fighting the man.
We then slide into the couch gag, More zombies. But this time stitched together with all the wrong.
.
They get their heads on the "right bodies" and start watching TV.
And when we get into the show proper, there's no overall structure. From now on, they just go to and from stories as they end.
So this time out we get...
and
and
Which ends with a dance number...
Looks like the tombstones are out of favor. And it looks like the couch gags are here to stay, But what will they come up with the next year?
Now on to Year VI.
