Senators say the darnedest things.

This has to be one of the funnier quotes I've seen about Alberto Gonzales in some time. Apparently the AG is the Justice equivalent of Wayne Gretzky, Winston Churchill and, I don't know, Albert Einstein rolled into one. Says Sen. Wayne Allard (R-CO): "If he steps down, who is it that we can find to replace him? Right now, I don't see an alternative."

The irreplaceable man.

That is too funny. Alberto Gonzalez, irreplaceable. Okay...he's one of a kind, sure.

But why do they want to clutch to him? He is a toady. He does the presidents bidding, no matter the cost or questionable ethics. He will lie, act like a moron, and just cover up anything, for his old friend, George.

And if they wanted to remove him, the next one would need to get through the Senate, and the democrats. And they would actually need a more competent and honest person...or based on the last few days in Congress, maybe not.

But the Republicans in congress continue to praise him. He comes and says nothing, except he doesn't know anything about his job. And then he comes back and repeats himself, even after new information came out, nothing changes in his words. And the republicans just smile, or shrug and change the conversation.

He's perfect. The mental mirror of his master : who uses the "I'm just a dummy" act to marvelous effect. The Iraqis had a phrase at the time of the Saddam trial : American Puppet Theater. Watching this lot sure seems just like Punch and Judy.
