McCain won...apparently

I had a good laugh looking the results last night.

There was McCain, in fourth between Thompson and Paul.

Someone asked me, how did he do so well?

Let's see, somehow, he impressed Iowa more than the libertarian running as a Republican and the guy from New York that people are getting sick of, ...but he just doesn't have the drive, energy and charisma of a Fred Thompson.

I guess for McCain that is victory. He thinks Iraq is a victory so, to quote Princess Bride, "I don't think that word means what you think it means."

But things do look up for him, Romney is wounded, Huckabee faces dangers behind the back from most of the party, and everyone else is imploding or falling over. He may yet win by default. And to quote another, "To win by default is to still win."

And as TPM and others have pointed to, Chris Matthews is heralding the McCain ascension. As he makes his teen percentages, he's a freaking hero. Matthews also claims Clinton at 30 percent is hated by the majority of her party. It is, apparently, different for McCain and Republicans.
